Student hacks friend’s mail to deny foreign admission

Jealous of his friend’s performance, an MSc. (economics) passout from the Calcutta University allegedly hacked his email account and sent mails with a view to deny him an opportunity to study abroad, but unfortunately, he landed in police net.

Soumyatanu Mukherjee, 25, was arrested for hacking the email account of his friend Agnirup Sarkar, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Pallab Kanti Ghosh said here  on Tuesday. “Mukherjee hacked the account and sent emails to foreign universities where Sarkar had applied for Ph.D that he did not wish to study there,” Ghosh said. School friends Mukherjee and Sarkar,  completed their MSc. in Economics from the Calcutta University.
